Abstract

The article deals with the design of the precise PWM signal measurement system. This system was developed using the MAX II CPLD and LPC 1768 microcontroller. 8 measurement channels were implemented into the CPLD, which makes this system suitable for the evaluation of the servo signals on a UAV quadcopter. The measurement channels can measure the PWM signals with the frequency from 5 Hz to 1 kHz while the LSB has the value of 20 ns. The system is designed in such way that it can be used for the practical measurements of the servo signals from the UAV RC receivers, UAV autopilot responses to the input signals and it can also serve as the source of information of the UAV operator reactions in the control system during their training.
